The Memorandum promotes actions on issues of management and development of the Public Sector Human Resources benefiting from the expertise of ACEO as the body representing Leadership in Greece.
The long-term effort of ACEO regarding the public-private partnership is translated into practice through the signing of a relevant Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and the National Centre for Public Administration & Local Government (EKDDA).
The Memorandum, having as its object the implementation of actions on issues of management and development of the Public Sector Human Resources, was signed on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Makis Voridis,the President at National Centre of Public Administration & Local Governance, Ms. Paraskevi Dramalioti and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO), Mr. Vassilis Rabbat.On behalf of the Association, Mr. Yannis Papachristou, General Secretary of the ACEO Board of Directors, and Mr. John Anastasopoulos, Advisor to the ACEO Board, were also present at this special ceremony, as members of the Supervisory Committee of the Memorandum of Cooperation along with the Secretary-General for Human Resources, Ms. Vivi Charalampogianni.
The memorandum of Cooperation benefits from the voluntary provision of ACEO’s leadership and management expertise and know-how and its signing is an important step that brings the future Public Administration closer, marking the beginning of a meaningful and fruitful partnership that puts efficiency as a key priority of Public Administration as well as that of the empowerment of human resources.
It is worth noting that the Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO) focuses on the effort to bridge the public and private sectors of the country, promoting know-how and joint actions with important initiatives of a special dialogue day entitled “Bridges of Cooperation” which was launched in 2018 under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic, aiming at the economic recovery and in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the country through the transformation of the Public sector.
The Minister of Interior, Mr. Makis Voridis, pointed out that “The effort we are making at the Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the National Centre for Public Administration & Local Government (EKDDA) is to modernize and upgrade the quality of the functioning of the public sector for the benefit of Greek citizens. To achieve this, we enrich the significant expertise already possessed by the Public Administration with the mindset and knowledge of the private sector. I am convinced that today’s signature of the Protocol on cooperation with the Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO) will contribute significantly in this direction”.
As Mr. Vassilis Rabbat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO) and President and Managing Director at XEROX HELLAS, pointed out“The Public and the Private sector have a common national target towards recovery and digital economy transition. The Association of Chief Executive Officers (ACEO) is aware of its role as an important partner in matters of progress and reforms over time. At the same time, we share a common value system, which places the country and society at the centre in an era of challenges that makes the idiom ‘in unity there is strength’ more relevant than ever.
Mr. Yannis Papachristou, Mr. Yannis Papachristou, General Secretary of the ACEO Board of Directors, Partner of the Group CHIPITA FOODS SA, said that“the members of ACEO, a body representing the top management in our country, manage companies with over 200,000 employees. The Public and Private sectors can work together more closely for the benefit of society. The memorandum of cooperation that was signed with the Ministry of Interior gives us the opportunity to exchange good management practices, knowledge and experiences in the development of human resources. Our common goal is to improve the daily experience of the citizen’s contact with the state and the development of the Greek economy.”
Mr. John Anastasopoulos, Advisor to the ACEO Board, said “This Memorandum signals a strong commitment to continue a two-way, multi-level cooperation with the Public Sector. Since 2018, solid foundations have been laid with our “Bridges of Collaboration” initiative that establishes a fruitful dialogue with public officials for the modernization and development of human resources.
