
Alison Duncan is a senior career diplomat who has worked across a range of Australian
government foreign policy priorities over more than 20 years with the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has held senior diplomatic posts in Indonesia, New Zealand
and Solomon Islands. In Australia, she has worked across the department’s international
security, consular and bilateral areas, and as head of the Diplomatic Academy. In 2015, she
received a Young Public Sector Leader Award from the Institute of Public Administration of
Australia. Ms Duncan speaks Indonesian and French.
